nicocoerTitle: Music Meme drabbles from May 13th, 2008
Ratings: no more than PG-13

Choose a subject (or subjects) and go - Writing: Put your entire music collection on shuffle, hit play, and write. Write for as long as each song plays and move on to a different writing when the song switches(even if it's mid-sentence). Go for ten songs(or five). If nothing comes, it still counts. 1 Velorium Camper I: Faint of Heart - Coheed & Cambrialink- vid is FF
There's something in this, he thinks. He lets his hands trail across those sleeping form next to him, relishing in th eslim form, the thicker than any man should have lashes. It was something that he didn't want to be without, these lines of charcoal and finger smudges on vellum.
And so he decides not to be. Out comes the note pad, and each stroke is full of the way that the light settled in shaggy dark hair, lighting the ends with a dull fire. The shadows under the eyes, smudges of where his fingers touch the paper and brings up the places where his hands once were.
2 You know what they do to guys like us in Prison - My Chemical Romancelisten
There's something not quite right here. it's not in the way that they allow their eyes to meet, or the press (too close) in the dressing room or the way his breath smelt that night he took him home after drinking, sticky and sweet and a little salty from the usual teardrops.
3 Izzo/In the End - Jay-Z/Linkin Park(vid has lyrics)
This bounce and swing lets him fall into a safe place in his mind. Work always does, but this is a little different right now, because right now he forgets that he'll critique each step a little off, each swing of the arms that aren't quite controlled.
4 Delorian - Team Sleep vid is about foxes
"You know how lucky we are, you know, to have each other." His voice slurrs a little, drunk but melancholy
5 Mutiny - Set Your Goals vid
It's an up hill battle in this business. One day you might be working your way up, you might be next to your friends, you might be looking brightly forward. The next it's pulled out from under you as you slip to the side to watch them in the light, with the feeling that you maybe shoudl have been next to them.
Then you fight uphill again, and you get a little angery but not enough to stop. Not enough to drop hope. And someday, the straining and dull ache of the fight pays off. Someday you might. MIGHT be on top- not where you thought, but still up. and still kicking.

Pulling apart was the hardest part of the process. Having found friends and hoping to continue the way things worked out, then feeling that tear that sucess brings.
Still, there are a couple of times, a couple of nights, when it's easy to pretend that that sucess didn't happen yet, And the pull and sway and beat of together is back. Those nights are now spent with a few drinks, though back then they were minutes of rest between working. It's nostalgia that creates these moments, not real memory, but the memory of how it felt to be with these friends, the ones life was spent struggling with and against and along side, and still happy.

One thing can be said about being a Hero- Most of the pay off has more to do with luck than any corrolation with effort. You might be able to get what you wanted but usually what ended up happening was you end up feeling the pull back to the good old fight in any way you can.

And then there was that damn smile again. endearing, but infuriating at the same time. One of those smiles and All of the work ends up slipping a little, and before you know it, it's. . . Never mind. That smile, this time, was for me.

When the smoke cleared, the entire field was covered in the dead. The troops went out in the field and for the night, battle was not waged. instead, the dead were cleared and piled by their colors. When they were so bloody that no man could figure their nation or faith, they were piled together, mousslman and Papist alike. Richard bowed his head, and returned to his tent for the night.

Arms and heat and a familiar weight slipped into the bed beside him, and he slowed his breathing in hopes to get some sleep tonight. He gave up quickly as curious hands felt him and a low voice breathed into his hair.
"Eh, asleep already? But it's so early!"
He rolled over and made a noise eerily like a pissed off camel. And was told so until a well aimed glare ended the distraction- only to quickly be replaced by equally annoying snoring.
"Bandmates," he sighed, rolling his eyes and praying that they wouldn't give him decaf in the morning.

"The end is near! Repent! Repeeee-" The call was cut off as the old man tripped, exhausted, and plunged to the gutter where the infected quickly converted him. The man in the window was amused by the irony until he felt mangled flesh slam into him and pitch him forward into the horde of enraged mindlessness.

She was out of breath and still making her legs pump while the air tore at her lungs. If she could just make it to the door, make it through- surely the hall was too narrow for enough of them to break it down any time soon.
"fuckin zombies" she gasped as she slammed the door behind her.

[ I can't think of anything but a Domyouji/Makino/Rui vid with a definite Makino/Rui twist. D: thank you brain for being infected by crackiness to this extent. I'm even more of a Makino/Domyouji shipper with a little Rui/Domyouji angst twisted in. D:]

Sometimes the only thing to do in a post-apocalyptic world is to find a couple of other survivors, gather in a fall out shelter, and hope that drink the chick behind the fridge-bar fixed you wouldn't kill you. No one can afford the risk of foraging for booze, unless they want to join the hell outside with a quick bite to the leg, and these folks are more likely to know how to cook meth than distil moonshine.
Sometimes you get lucky, and learn that these guys look like punks- and smell like shit, though you prolly do too- but had parents who knew the tricks of the home brewing trade.

Without pain, there's no beauty. He looked up, weary, and fingered an ear. His earring left a butterfly stamped on his index finger before he went back to the strokes building up in front of him, taking a familiar shape. No, without pain there would be no strength, and if there's beauty without strength in body or mind it's a waste. Wings took shape, and delicate colors slowly edged their way up the veins.

There was nothing left but the hope that this really would free her, that it wasn't some lie conjured up out of an overworked imagination. eyeing her bag dubiously, before opening it and bringing out her dearest friend.

Pulling apart was the hardest part of the process. Having found friends and hoping to continue the way things worked out, then feeling that tear that sucess brings.
Still, there are a couple of times, a couple of nights, when it's easy to pretend that that sucess didn't happen yet, And the pull and sway and beat of together is back.
